CCH Partners with Comtax to Help International Tax Professionals with Cross-border Transactions

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., December 1, 2010) – CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business, a leading provider of tax, accounting and audit information, software and services, today announced that it has entered into a partnership with Comtax, the worldwide provider of the international tax planning software suite, Comtax® System. Under the agreement, CCH will offer the Comtax System, which helps tax professionals reduce tax costs, minimize risk and increase the net results of cross-border transactions.

With the Comtax System, professionals can manage the costs of internal cross-border transactions; identify and manage corporate tax risks in cross-border transactions; and understand the tax implications of cross-border payments of dividends, interest, royalty, fees and capital gains on shares.

Based on a particular tax situation, Comtax extracts relevant information and tax regulations from its database. It then mathematically analyzes the available options, as well as ranks them in order of tax efficiency, all in a matter of seconds. Comtax allows professionals to calculate cross-border transactions with all tax costs taken into account to and from 129 countries/jurisdictions worldwide, supported by an extensive reference database. The comprehensive database is updated monthly, with 129 major countries worldwide covering corporate tax rates, withholding tax rates, tax legislation, future tax rates and tax news.

“We’re pleased to add Comtax to our portfolio of comprehensive international tax products and software tools,” said Mark Friedlich, CCH Director of Publishing for International Taxation. “This partnership further extends CCH’s commitment to offer professionals best-in-breed solutions that simplify workflow, ensure compliance and maximize profitability.”

"By combining Comtax with other products from CCH, we considerably increase effectiveness and value for the international tax professional," said Bernt Persson, Comtax Managing Director. "We are very pleased to launch this partnership with CCH, and look forward to bringing a very powerful and effective tool to better serve our customers."
