CCH Learning Center Launches Just-in-time Learning
(RIVERWOODS, ILL., January 29, 2007) – Now there’s a way for subscribers to the industry-leading CCH Tax Research NetWork to earn CPE credit while they do their work, according to CCH, a leading provider of tax, accounting and audit information, software and services. “Just-in-time learning” connects users to the CCH Learning Center where they can learn what they need to know, when they need to know it, and get CPE credit as they apply their knowledge (cch.learningcenter.com).
“CCH has just taken another step forward in integrating CCH content, learning, tools and applications to save practitioners time, improve their productivity and reduce risks and liabilities,” said Cynthia Kaplan, CCH product manager. “Now, researchers have a quick and relevant way to learn while they work and earn CPE credit that maintains their professional licenses.”
NASBA/QAS-approved CCH Learning Center courses are now linked with practitioners’ research efforts via the CCH Tax Research NetWork’s “Topic Navigator” and “Related Topics” feature. This allows practitioners to immediately access approved courses in the context of doing their jobs – while finding answers to tax questions or refreshing knowledge on a tax area – and earn CPE credit while tackling a client’s tax problem or preparing for an engagement.
“Our subscribers see this as a great enhancement to our products,” Kaplan added. “They find it really useful to have the Learning Center integrated with daily research, so it’s there when they need to learn more. It also just makes sense to obtain CPE credit while you’re already working in a specific area of taxation, and your active involvement in a topic makes the learning that much more relevant.”
The integration works two ways, with links back to the CCH Tax Research NetWork from Learning Center course content as well.
“People taking Learning Center courses have access to the relevant primary materials in a genuine research environment,” Kaplan noted.
