CCH Enriches State Tax Reporters with Additional Legislative Information

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., August 7, 2006) – CCH, a Wolters Kluwer business and a leading provider of tax information, software and services is now making additional State Net information on state legislative activity available to subscribers to its state tax reporters at no additional charge (

Subscribers to CCH State Tax Reporters now have access to:

  • Historical information on pending and enacted legislation;
  • Bill analyses by legislative staffers;
  • Background information on the legislators responsible for introducing the legislation, including contact information; and
  • Access to all versions of both the text of the legislation and the accompanying analytical information, downloaded directly from State Net.

“This newly-added content adds even more power to CCH’s State Tax Reporters, giving our subscribers a more complete, efficient research experience, particularly those who are interested in legislative intent. This is in addition to the state-specific Smart Charts and Legislative Development features we added to our state reporters earlier this year. In fact, no one else in the industry provides this level of information,” said Angela Darrow, CCH product manager.

Easy Access

Accessing the new State Net information is done by searching or browsing for a particular bill and downloading it from one of the menus for This Week’s Legislative Activity, Current Year’s Final and Pending Legislation or Prior Years’ Enacted Legislation.

In each case, users will find clearly delineated hot links that allow them to link directly to State Net’s server, where all of this legislative material is contained in a simple, easy-to-use format. This will not affect any of the functionality users rely on, including the ability to set CCH® Tax Trackers™ to look for specific topics and to search the data by state as required.
