Online Medicare Research Made Easier Than Ever With New CCH Enhancements

(RIVERWOODS, ILL., October 29, 2004) – CCH INCORPORATED (CCH), a leading supplier of health care law information and software and a Wolters Kluwer company, has enhanced and reorganized its online Health Care Reimbursement offerings, making them more useful and accessible than ever before.

Subscribers now will find separate "Health Care Reimbursement" and "Health Care Compliance" tabs when they log on to the CCH Internet Research NetWork.

"Our subscribers are specialists and they look for specialized materials," said Angela Darrow, product manager for CCH. "We’ve made it easier for them to zero in on what they want, and get everything they’re looking for."

SmartRelate Ensures Complete Research

To speed research and ensure that subscribers can find all relevant documents, CCH has added a "SmartRelate" function to the CCH Medicare and Medicaid Guide. SmartRelate allows researchers to bring up a list of documents related to the one being read.

"If you’re reading a CCH explanation of Medicare eligibility, with one click you can get a list with links to the statutes, regulations, Federal Register issuances and other CCH explanations that bear on the same point," Darrow explained. "If you subscribe to the CMS Manuals, then CMS materials can also be accessed through SmartRelate," Darrow added.

CMS Manuals Reorganized

Under the "Health Care Reimbursement" tab, subscribers will also find that the CMS Manuals now appear under two headings, one for older, paper-based, Manuals and one for the newer Manuals available only over the Internet.

"It’s simpler for researchers to target the Manual of interest, and SmartRelate makes it easier to find the new, electronic equivalent of an older Manual, or vice-versa, via integrated crosswalks," Darrow said. "This is the kind of completeness that isn’t available from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services themselves."
