CCH Wall Street, Actimize, To Offer Detection Tool for Securities Compliance
(RIVERWOODS, ILL., October 17, 2003) – CCH Wall Street, a leading provider of integrated content and software tools to the broker-dealer and investment adviser community and Actimize, a leader in developing automated monitoring and detection systems for financial institutions, have partnered to produce an affordable compliance detection solution for broker-dealers struggling to keep up with potential violations of securities regulations.
The new surveillance tool will automatically collect and monitor transaction activity, account profiles, portfolio holdings, then alert compliance officers of suspicious activities—allowing them to respond quickly and appropriately, managing the risk of regulatory repercussions.
"This will dramatically change the way professionals approach compliance," said Michael Jurick, product portfolio manager for CCH Wall Street. "The Actimize solution enables compliance professionals, managers and other principals to filter out false alerts and focus only on those cases that present potential noncompliant activity."
The new solution offers several advantages for compliance professionals:
- It automatically performs complex behavioral and portfolio-based analytics.
- It dynamically scores and ranks suspicious activities, allowing compliance officers to focus on the most serious issues and maintain a complete audit trail of the investigative process.
- It monitors for best sales practices, trade surveillance, and anti-money laundering.
- The web-based solution requires minimal setup, hardware or IT maintenance.
"Up until now, systems of this sophistication have been practical only for large companies, on a customized basis," Jurick said. "Now firms of any size will be able to use the cutting edge in detection technology, at an affordable cost."
"We’re very pleased to partner with CCH in offering this new compliance solution," said David Sosna, Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer of Actimize. "CCH is one of the foremost authorities on the required federal, NASD, NYSE, and other self-regulatory organization rules and regulations, and they understand the value of providing enterprise surveillance and compliance technology to their financial services clients. Because of the unique architecture used by Actimize, CCH clients will be able to deploy a comprehensive compliance solution in a matter of weeks, not months. What’s more, these solutions should pay for themselves quickly, just in terms of reduced risk to the financial institution."
The CCH Wall Street and Actimize detection solution will be launched in the first quarter of 2004. Interested parties for prototype testing are encouraged to contact CCH Wall Street before December 31, 2003.
