Mckinstry Named To Executive Board Of Wolters Kluwer

$4 Billion Multinational Information Services Company Adds
American to Executive Team

 (CHICAGO, May 4, 2001) - Shareholders of Wolters Kluwer nv, Amsterdam, today approved the appointment of Nancy McKinstry, New York City, to its four-member executive board, which oversees global operations of the $4 billion information services company. McKinstry, the second American ever appointed to the Wolters Kluwer executive board, is currently president and CEO of the company’s legal, tax and business information, software and services operations in North America.

Wolters Kluwer (WK) is one of the world’s largest professional publishing companies, with operations in 25 countries and 19,000 employees. The $1.1 billion North American unit includes market-leading providers of electronic information and services for attorneys, accountants and business professionals, including CCH INCORPORATED, Riverwoods, Ill.; Aspen Publishers, Gaitherburg, Md.; CCH Canadian, Toronto; and CCH Legal Information Services (LIS).

In addition to her executive board member duties, McKinstry, 42, will continue to oversee North American operations. She will be involved particularly in the development and implementation of the parent’s global Internet initiatives, which include the continued development in North America of innovative, integrated web-based applications for Wolters Kluwer’s content, software and specialized services.

Prior to being named CEO of Wolters Kluwer North America last October, McKinstry had been CEO and a director of SCP, New York City, a medical publishing and services company specializing in clinical research, journals, medical education and communications. For eight years prior to SCP, she held executive positions with several Wolters Kluwer North American companies.

McKinstry served as president and CEO of CCH LIS, a leading provider of agent representation and filing services to the legal and corporate markets, from 1996 to 1999. During her tenure there, the company experienced rapid growth, expanded its line of technology-based services and products, and became one of WK’s most profitable companies worldwide.

Prior to becoming president and CEO of CCH LIS, McKinstry was executive vice president of marketing and product management for CCH for four years. During McKinstry’s time at CCH, the company emerged as a leading provider of electronic publishing products, launched the market’s first Windows -based software and initiated integrated marketing.

Her career also includes seven years as a principal with Booz Allen & Hamilton, a management and technology consulting firm. She holds an MBA from Columbia University, New York City, and an undergraduate degree in economics from the University of Rhode Island, Kingston.
