James Hamilton, JD, LLM
Federal Securities Law Analyst

A senior law analyst for CCH, Jim Hamilton is a securities expert with extensive experience tracking and explaining securities legislation, regulation and case law. Hamilton is an attorney who has written extensively on the federal securities laws and has been cited as authority by federal courts and treatise writers. He has authored respected books on the Private Securities Litigation Reform Act of 1995 and the National Securities Markets Improvement Act of 1996. His analysis of the Reform Act is considered a definitive explanation of the act and is often used in professional conferences and seminars. Hamilton also authored a popular guidebook on insider reporting under Section 16(a), co-authors a yearly guide to the responsibilities of officers and directors under the federal securities laws, and co-authored a guide to the federal regulation of derivatives.

Hamilton provides a complete understanding of federal securities law, with both a historical knowledge and in-depth current awareness of securities law issues.

Ted Trautmann, JD
Senior Securities Law Analyst

Ted Trautmann, an attorney, has authored and co-authored numerous books in the area of federal securities regulation, including: Informal Corporate Disclosure under Federal Securities Law; Responsibilities of Corporate Officers and Directors under Federal Securities Law; and Securities, Commodities & Banking Year in Review. Trautmann is also the coordinating editor of two quarterly journals: Cyber Strategies: At the Frontier of Law & Business and the Journal of Global Financial Markets. In addition, he regularly contributes analyses for the Federal Securities Law Reports, a comprehensive resource for federal securities laws, regulations, and related information.

Trautmann provides expert guidance on the application of federal securities law to the crucial issues facing investors, regulators, corporations and members of the securities industry.
